Novels to read for those who did not read all of Boy - to be tested 6/2-14

I have left a copy of the novel We All Fall Down, for you in Mediateket. Go pick it up soon. We will not work with it in class, so you read on your own. There will be a test on Stödtimmen 4 o'clock on Thursday the 6th of February.

Presentation of Best Person Award

Because there were no class last Friday, those of you who should have done the presentations then - will do them this Thursday. On Friday you will get feed back and the last day to write the summaries and send them through Urkund. Nationella prov på engelskalektionerna

Efter höstlovet kommer ni att skriva ett äldre NP i engelska. Dels i Listening och dels i Reading. Dessa prov kan man inte plugga till, men man kan titta på gamla prov och bekanta sig med formen och vilka svar som efterfrågas. Här är en länk till den sidan med tidigare NP.

Listen + Learn new words + Write

1. Choose one episode of SourceFed or Vsauce or Crash Course
2. Watch it with English subtitles
3. Look up all the new words and add to your wordlist
4. Open a new document in Drive, name it SourceFed or Vsauce
5. Write a short summary of the program where you use the words you learnt. Include the link
6. Also tell me - What did you learn from it? And -  Rate it (difficult/funny/boring/interesting)

Discussing Boy in half class

Read the next part of Boy and choose 3 things to discuss.
1 - Something you liked.
2 - something you disliked
3 - something you would like explained, something you did not understand.
Make sure to write down the page in the book so that you can find it easily and read a small part from the novel.
When you come to class. We will sit in a circle. Everyone will mention one thing they liked, read a short passage from the novel where this takes place and then explain why they like it.
I will look at how well you speak English but also how well you understand the novel. These are the Kunskapskrav.

Revise your letter + exit ticket

1. Correct your letter according to my comments. A ? means that you need to change something.
2. In the blog there is a document called Check Your Writing. Use that step by step and revise your letter.

This means that two peers should read through your letter before you hand it in to me.

3. Share your letter in Google Drive with 2 peers. One at a time and improve the letter together. The purpose of correcting together is that you should help your classmate get better. You can speak Swedish and discuss the changes.
4. The person who is your coach should sign his name below the letter.
